J. Mendel is a luxury fashion house known for its exquisite craftsmanship, particularly in fur, eveningwear, and couture-level designs. The brand was founded in 1870 in St. Petersburg, Russia, as a furrier to the Russian aristocracy and later moved to Paris. Today, it is helmed by Gilles Mendel, a fifth-generation designer who modernized the brand while maintaining its legacy of craftsmanship. The brand is a favorite among celebrities for its ethereal, intricately draped gowns made from ultra-luxurious materials such as silk chiffon, organza, velvet, lace and tulle.
