Lamé Fabrics (Metallic-Lurex Fabrics)
Lamé is a type of fabric woven or knit with thin ribbons of metallic as well as polyester or nylon fibers. If not completely gold or silver, lamé usually features these colors. Lamé is often used in evening-wear and theatrical/dance costumes. It is a favorite material in futuristic costumes for science fiction television/films as well as for recreating 70’s disco style.
