This high sheen and textured silk brocade is a pearl color.In French matelassé means “quilted, padded, or cushioned,” however matelassé fabric does not contain padding. This fabric only appears padded because of its jacquard weave that gives it its puffy or cushioned look. The stiffer drape of this brocade falls into full volume giving body to dress overlays, avant-garde jackets and midi skirts. This fabric is also perfect for throw pillows, slipcovers, and upholstery. Ever-so-slightly sheer, a lining is not needed unless additional structure and modesty is desired.
