Lela Rose Ornate Swirl Guipure Lace - White
Medium-weight fabric offers a balance between lightness and substance. They are often opaque, but lighter colors may be somewhat translucent depending on the weave. Typically, medium-weight fabric holds its shape without being overly rigid, providing a versatile base for various garment styles.
Note: We have assessed each fabric's weight to the best of our ability, acknowledging that weight alone doesn't always dictate how a fabric will behave. A heavily beaded tulle, for example, may be surprisingly heavy on the scale yet drape and function as a lightweight fabric in a garment. If you would like a more precise weight measurement, we are happy to provide GSM (grams per square meter) upon request, by emailing us at info@fabrics-fabrics.com.
Moderate fabric drape is considered the most versatile, as it works well for a wide range of garments. It skims the body without clinging, holds gathers well, creates soft folds and pleats, and strikes a balance between structure and fluidity.
Note: While fabric weight and drape are often related, many factors influence drape. Lightweight fabrics can be stiff and heavy fabrics can drape beautifully. We've categorized fabrics based on their typical properties, but these are just guidelines.
